Food was fresh. Service was quality. Menu is straight forward. Love the historic house feel. Would recommend.

Ambiance is great. Service is friendly. I love their s'more panini and French toast! I always stop by here when I'm in the area.

This was our favorite place to eat in this area as their food was solid. Loved my calamari dish as they have the recipe down right. Wife's lamb chops were excellent . Small cute place that must have a long wait to get in on the busy nights as it's so good here. Definitely coming back for that calamari again!

We were looking for a dinner spot after exploring Monterey's lovers point. So glad we came across this quaint red house. We were evaluating resto options and my daughter picked Red House Cafe because of its color and charm. She picked well because our experience was lovely! As you walk in the resto, you will have a glimpse of their kitchen and a working fireplace that warms up the cozy dining area. The whole restaurant feels like someone's home. So adorable! The food was great -- we had the seafood pasta, fish special, and the calamari...all were great! Calamari was my favorite -- big size portion for an app. The desserts are a must have. They make their pies and cookies from scratch so we had a to try a couple - apple, blackberry, and oatmeal apricot. They were fresh, filled with real fruit, and not that sweet. Even the hot cocoa is made from scratch-- it's massive, literally served in a bowl! The staff were friendly and attentive. The only downside was their POS system broke when we went there so they were only taking cash. Good thing there was a gas station across the street that has an ATM. Smelling the food and seeing the pies were enough motivation for us to get cash and come back! That's how great it is!

This place is insanely good. Breakfast there multiple times during our trip to Monterey and we just couldn't stop going back - dinner service was somehow almost better. It's quiet on the inside with low volume music and a lovely fireplace. HIGHLY recommended.

Enjoyed a fantastic spinach, poached pear, blue cheese and candied pecan salad. Perfect size for a light dinner. Lovely indoor and outdoor seating. Thank you for a nice meal :-)

Visiting from out of town, we were looking for a brunch spot on a Sunday where we could eat with our dog. The other reviews on Yelp were great, so we gave it a try! Overall, we had a really positive experience and enjoyed our meal: smoked salmon on a potato pancake and the calamari sandwich, plus 2 iced coffees. I was surprised that the almond milk for one of the iced coffees cost an additional $2 - that may be standard in this neighborhood, but I was disappointed to see that when the check came. We sat outside and although it was a little chilly, their outdoor space was spacious and worked well for our dog. The service was only okay; it took a bit for them to come take our order and we watched other tables order and receive their drinks and food before we even had waters. The restaurant was busy, so I imagine that had something to do with it and I would come back for the potato pancake anyway!

Adorable adorable adorable. What a perfect bookend for our troop up to the Monterey Peninsula. We stopped in here for breakfast. Packed! For good reason! The portions are amazing. The food is delicious. The coffee is award winning (in my mind). The lady running the place is a doll! She came out and chatted with the tables making sure we were all comfortable and had everything we possible needed. A true class act with such charm.
